Adaptation Fund: Over 3 billion people extremely vulnerable to climate change impacts

Today, more than 3 billion people are extremely vulnerable to the consequences of climate change, which dramatically increases the urgency of collective action, the Chairman of the Adaptation Fund (AF) Board, Lucas di Pietro, said at a joint session on "Baku Human Development Initiative for Climate Resilience" within COP29.

According to Report, he noted that the Fund's work covers crucial development needs such as healthcare, education, social protection, and livelihoods.

"We prioritize the needs of children, youth, women, and marginalized groups, and ensure everyone has the opportunity to build a better future. Many of our projects contribute to increasing resilience by addressing complex risks associated with the climate crisis," he said.
