8th meeting of COP29 Organizing Committee takes place in Baku

The 8th meeting of the Organizing Committee for the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29) was held on October 31, Report informs.

Head of the Presidential Administration and Chairman of the Organizing Committee Samir Nuriyev noted that with only days remaining until COP29, preparation for the event has been accelerated and is in its final stage.

Nuriyev recalled that on October 17, President Ilham Aliyev inspected the preparatory work at the Baku Olympic Stadium and gave necessary instructions. He also emphasized that more than 100 heads of state and government, as well as vice presidents, are expected to participate in the COP29 Leaders Summit.

According to him, more than 50,000 people have already registered to participate in COP29, and this number continues to grow as registration is still open. He noted significant interest in COP29 participation from foreign media and non-governmental organizations.

During the meeting, a video was shown reflecting the current state of preparatory work at the Baku Olympic Stadium.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Samir Nuriyev expressed confidence that under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership, Azerbaijan would achieve another historic success at COP29, and gave instructions on continuing the implementation of the COP29 Action Plan and other relevant matters.
