Zakarpattia governor suggests opening SOCAR fueling station in region

The trade between Azerbaijan and Zakarpatye region of Ukraine made $300,000 in 2020, and $140,000 in 2021, Zakarpattia governor Anatoliy Poloskov told Report's Eastern European bureau.

"I understand that due to the coronavirus pandemic, last year virtually bypassed us, and the business failed. But I do not doubt that we must strengthen our ties. Take, for example, SOCAR. Why not open SOCAR fueling stations in Zakarpattia? We can view this process as perspective," he said.

According to Polosov, industrial parks that are planned to be opened could be of interest to Azerbaijan.

"It's a comfortable area for investors. Therefore, we do not limit the spheres of activity but create favorable conditions for building business, ensuring investment protection, protecting investors' interests. For this reason, as soon as the new industrial parks are commissioned, it will be a great pleasure for us to inform the Azerbaijani side about it."
