Turkiye, Azerbaijan to cooperate in development of SMEs

Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Economic Reforms Analysis and Communication (CERAC), met with a delegation led by Salih Tuna Sahin, Deputy Chairman of the Board of KOSGEB, Turkiye, Report informs.

Gasimli informed the guest about the work done for the development of small and medium enterprises in the favorable business environment created in Azerbaijan, noting that the "Strategic Roadmap for the production of consumer goods at the level of small and medium enterprises" was implemented by 88% in 2016-2021.

The parties also discussed support for small and medium-sized businesses in the field of finance and credit, insurance, taxation, customs, and public procurement along with institutional reforms such as SME houses established by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) under the Ministry of Economy, EnterpriseAzerbaijan and Azexport portals operated by CERAC. The sides also exchanged views on joint projects between Turkiye and Azerbaijan to support small and medium-sized businesses.

Shahin also got acquainted with the conditions created for entrepreneurs at the "One Window" Export Support Center operating under the CERAC.
