Turkish minister: SOCAR’s investments in Turkey are of great importance for us

"A joint action plan composed of 147 articles has been developed at the meeting of the Joint Economic Commission between Azerbaijan and Turkey. Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and I will keep the fulfillment of these articles under our control," Turkish Minister of Trade Ruhsar Pekcan said at a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Report informs.

According to her, a memorandum of understanding of the Simplified Customs Corridor was signed with the chairman of the Azerbaijan State Customs Committee in Ankara.

"As Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia, we will hold a joint business forum and take joint steps to facilitate trade and customs-checkpoint procedures between the countries. At the same time, we'll sign a concessional trade contract with the support of our presidents."

She noted that this is a limited contract containing 15 articles: "We want to expand it by including new free trade agreements, services, and investments. SOCAR's investments in Turkey are of great importance for us. We are standing by SOCAR with all of our support and promotion. We are expecting new investments. We were planning to organize a presentation on the introduction of Azerbaijan's investment environment in September. However, we are now planning to organize a presentation on Azerbaijan's investment environment in Turkey in February."
