Turkish Birlik Deri company to be resident in Azerbaijan's Aghdam Industrial Park

The Turkish company Birlik Deri, specializing in the production of leather products, plans to develop activities in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan, the Trade Representation at the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Istanbul said in a statement, Report informs.

“On April 25, the Entrepreneur’s Day in Azerbaijan, a decision was made to grant the Turkish company Birlik Deri the status of a resident of the Agdam Industrial Park in Karabakh,” the representative office said.

The statement notes that the first meeting with the owner of the Birlik Deri company, Burhan Demirses, at the Trade Representation took place on November 24, 2023, during which he announced the company’s intention to take part in the restoration of Karabakh.

“The future activities of Birlik Deri in the Agdam Industrial Park will be a win-win model and will contribute to the development of the Karabakh region, employment of the returning population and increased socio-economic well-being,” the statement reads.

On May 28, 2021, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the creation of the Aghdam Industrial Park. The territory of the industrial park is 190 hectares.
