Trade between Azerbaijan and Serbia expected to grow, ambassador says

The year 2022 bring an even greater increase in trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Serbia, that would exceed $ 50 million at the end of the year, Ambassador of Serbia to Azerbaijan Dragan Vladisavljević told Report.

As for the trade of 2021, the ambassador noted that, according to the data of the relevant institutions of the Republic of Serbia, during the first 11 months of 2021, the total foreign trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $47.6 million, with Serbia exporting to Azerbaijan goods and services worth $47.3 billion, and importing from Azerbaijan goods in the amount of $0.3 million.

"Although, compared to other countries, this figure may not seem high, it still represents a significant increase compared to 2020, when the total foreign trade turnover amounted to 23.4 million dollars. The Embassy in Baku, as well as other institutions and companies of the Republic of Serbia, will certainly direct all their efforts towards increasing the said figures this year as well," the diplomat said.

He noted that when it comes to the export of goods and services from Serbia, during the first 11 months of last year, it dominantly comprised various types of unclassified goods, medicines, seeds, agricultural machinery, and other goods.
