Spain eyes adopting Azerbaijan’s experience in combating drug smuggling

Spain wants to adopt experience of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee in combating drug smuggling, Report informs referring to the State Customs Committee.

The issue was discussed at the meeting of Deputy Chairman of the structure Asgar Abdullayev with a delegation led by Antonio Miguel Doblas Jimenez, interior counsellor at the Spanish Embassy in Turkey.

Abdullayev spoke about the activities of the customs service of Azerbaijan, its potential, commitments and goals, in particular, about the success in the fight against smuggling. Speaking about the possibilities for further cooperation between the customs authorities of the two countries, he stressed the importance of exchanging experience and information in order to establish more useful and effective ties.

Doblas Jimenez informed about the activities of the structure he represented, as well as about the work done. He noted that the Spanish customs organization, along with the protection of national security, analyzes risks, fights smuggling, and despite all this, a more effective fight against drug smuggling is one of the main priorities.

Highly appreciating the success achieved by the customs authorities of Azerbaijan in the field of preventing drug trafficking, the guest noted that they are interested in joint cooperation in this area.
