Shahin Mustafayev: Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia is at the level of strategic partnership

Baku. 27 September. REPORT.AZ/ The cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia is based on the principles of neighborly mutual respect and friendship and is at the level of strategic partnership.

Report informs that Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev spoke at the expanded meeting of the Azerbaijani-Russian and Russian-Azerbaijani business councils within the framework of the 9th Azerbaijan-Russia interregional forum in Baku.

According to him, the mutual visits of presidents, constant contacts between the business circles of both countries serve as an evidence of strong cooperation. Mustafayev recalled that 17 documents and 6 documents in economic sphere were signed during the last visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Russia,

The Minister of Economy noted the positive dynamics of trade turnover between the countries. Russia is the first partner to import Azerbaijani goods.

Mustafayev said that Azerbaijan has invested more than $1 bn in the Russian economy, and Russia contributed $4 bn in investment in the Azerbaijani economy.

760 Russian companies are registered in Azerbaijan. There are broad prospects in the development of transport, energy, tourism, industry, agriculture.
