Sahil Babayev: Over past 5 years, 282,000 people were provided with jobs with entrepreneurs’ help in Azerbaijan

Over the past 5 years, 282,000 people were provided with jobs with the help of entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Minister of Labor and Social Protection Sahil Babayev said at the conference themed "Heydar Aliyev and the development of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan" organized by the Ministry, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency under the Ministry, and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations, Report informs.

The minister also said that 14,000 people were involved in vocational training:

“About 2,000 unemployed people were provided with jobs. All active employment measures could not be implemented without the strong support of entrepreneurs. I would like to note that the implementation of the self-employment program in Azerbaijan started at the end of 2017. Last year, this program covered 16,000 people. The program is especially important for the development of micro and small businesses. Over the past period, more than 60,000 families were supported to establish micro and small businesses within the framework of the program.”
