Pakistan working on action plan to strengthen trade with Azerbaijan

Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif instructed the formulation of a comprehensive strategy to strengthen cooperation and trade partnership with Azerbaijan in the fields of economy and investment.

Report informs via Associated Press of Pakistan that Shehbaz Sharif believes there are significant opportunities for trade and investment between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, and a vast potential for energy cooperation with the country.

According to him, there are significant opportunities for the development of trade and investment between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, as well as considerable potential for energy cooperation with Azerbaijan. Negotiations are underway to conclude a preferential trade agreement between the two countries.

Chairing a high-level meeting on strengthening relations with Central Asian states, particularly Azerbaijan, in the areas of economy and investment, the prime minister stated stated that Pakistan geographically offers a natural economic corridor to the sea for Central Asian states.

During his speech, Shehbaz Sharif also noted that there are strong fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan that span several decades.
