The number of billionaires under the age of 40 in the world has increased this year to 79, which means 26 more billionaires than in 2020, Report informs with reference to the business publication Hurun.
The combined fortune of the billionaires included in the rating has increased by 1.5 trillion yuan (about $230 billion) over the year and is currently about 3.4 trillion yuan (about $523 billion). Seventy-four of them, according to the report, managed to increase their wealth.
The wealthy people on this list live in Australia, the UK, Germany, India, Canada, China, the UAE, the US, Singapore, and Sweden. Most of them live in the US, China, and India.
Mark Zuckerberg, the 36-year-old Facebook founder, topped the ranking of young billionaires with a fortune of 653 billion yuan (about $100 billion). The second on the list is the 38-year-old head of ByteDance Zhang Yiming, whose fortune is estimated at 350 billion yuan (about $53 billion). Su Hua, the 39-year-old founder of Beijing Kuaishou Technology, closed the top three in the ranking, with a fortune of about 155 billion yuan (about $23 billion).
The rating of the world's USD billionaires under the age of 40 has been compiled annually by the business publication Hurun for the past five years. In 2016, it included 39 people.
