Mikayil Jabbarov: Main goal in next years related to development of non-oil sector

In the next years, the main goal in Azerbaijan is related to the development of the non-oil sector, because main oil fields are in the phase of production decline, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said in a video address to the conference themed "Heydar Aliyev and the development of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan" organized by the Ministry, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) under the Ministry, and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations, Report informs.

"It is true that production in gas fields will increase. However, it will be the development of the non-oil sector that ensures our sustainable development, and our entrepreneurs, including micro, small, and medium businesses, will achieve more with the continuous care of the country's leadership and new incentives. I believe that our main goal in the next years should be the export of products delivered in the non-oil sector. Because if an exportable product is competitive in the regional and global markets, then it will easily find its place in the Azerbaijani market. Economic policy and support measures will be continued in this direction," he noted.

According to the minister, the economic growth trends in Azerbaijan will rise further thanks to the reforms and successive measures that will be implemented in accordance with the new development strategy on the national priorities determined by the country's president.
