The measures taken by the state to restore and develop the territories liberated from occupation, as well as the economic potential of these areas, will create a basis for attracting new local and foreign investments to Azerbaijan, especially in the non-oil sector.
Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said at a video-format meeting on the results of 2020, chaired by President Ilham Aliyev, Report states.
"It is planned to carry out activities in four stages to ensure a comprehensive approach to the restoration and development of the territories liberated from occupation. The initial phase includes the solution to management and security, infrastructure issues. The activities of social services, the reconstruction, and the economy's development compose the next stages.
According to him, it is proposed to widely use public-private partnerships to implement investment projects to construct road transport, municipal infrastructure, irrigation and reclamation systems, and production of traditional and alternative energy. The plan also envisages introducing a special preferential economic regime in the territories liberated from occupation to stimulate economic activity.
