The participation of the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva and Chairwoman, Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko at the plenary session of the 10th Russian-Azerbaijan Interregional Forum once again underlines the serious support of the two countries in this direction, Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov said at the opening of the forum.
The minister noted that during the two-day forum it is planned to open the pavilion "Azerbaijan" at Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy (VDNKh). This is a very important event. “We hope that the pavilion will become another important platform for continuing existing contacts and deepening ties in both the trade, economic and humanitarian spheres."
Talking about the importance of developing the transport and transit sphere, he emphasized that the North-South international transport corridor is a landmark project, and the North-West corridor is also operating successfully.
Jabbarov noted that in addition to deliveries of agricultural products, Azerbaijani entrepreneurs are beginning to invest in the creation of local production in Russia, thus reducing their costs and consumer spending.
