KOBIA: Aspiring entrepreneurs should leverage available support tools effectively

In a bid to address the issue of people in Azerbaijan's regions being unaware of government-provided services, extensive awareness and support programs are being implemented, said Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) under the Economy Ministry of Azerbaijan, Report informs.

Mammadov made this statement at the Azerbaijan Career Development Forum held in Baku.

According to him, individuals aspiring to become entrepreneurs are offered free trainings, master classes, and consulting services through KOBIA's Development Centers. "Within the framework of these programs, the knowledge and skills of young people are enhanced, and necessary guidance is provided to those wishing to start entrepreneurial activities," he explained.

"Aspiring entrepreneurs should not shy away from risks and should properly utilize the available support tools. Through our 'SME Friends' networks in the regions, we educate individuals interested in entrepreneurship and teach them how to effectively use all services," Mammadov added.

The chairman noted that the development of women's entrepreneurship and the inclusion of persons with disabilities in business activities are also among the KOBIA's priorities. "Joint projects are being implemented with various government agencies in this area, and those wishing to start entrepreneurial activities are provided with advice, training, and practical support," he said.

Mammadov emphasized that providing the right direction to shape entrepreneurial thinking and ensuring the effective use of provided services is one of the priorities. "Our main goal is for young people to start their entrepreneurial activities with confidence and be able to fully utilize the opportunities provided by the state," he concluded.
