Ismayil Huseynov: Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Pakistan unsatisfactory

"Although Azerbaijan and Pakistan have established fruitful cooperation and friendly relations in various fields, trade turnover is unsatisfactory," First Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee Ismayil Huseynov said after the meeting with President of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Economic Cooperation Chamber Khurram Bhatti, Report informs.

Ilham Huseynov expressed the hope that the Azerbaijani-Pakistani Chamber of Economic Cooperation would work effectively in this direction, and that economic and trade relations would expand in the short term.

The first deputy chairman of the State Customs Committee expressed satisfaction with the historical and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan and praised the moral support provided to Azerbaijan during the 44-day Patriotic War as a clear example of this. The first deputy chairman of the committee said that the purposeful policy pursued by the presidents of the two countries played a pivotal role in bolstering mutual cooperation.

President of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Chamber of Economic Cooperation Khurram Bhatti thanked for the cordial meeting, spoke with satisfaction about the relations between the two countries, noting the importance of further expanding cooperation, especially in trade.

The sides also decided to form a permanent working group between the State Customs Committee and the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Economic Cooperation Chamber to further strengthen the ties.
