Iranian companies intend to expand activities in Azerbaijan

Iran's Finance and Economic Affairs Minister, Co-Chair of the Commission Farhad Dejpasand and Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the 14th meeting of the Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Economic Committee in Tehran, Report states, referring to Iranian media.

Dejpasand said that the Iranian private sector is ready to participate in projects implemented in Azerbaijan: "Iranian companies are ready to cooperate, especially in the field of technical and engineering services. The signing of this MOU will lead to a significant development of economic relations.

Mustafayev thanked Iran for its political support to Azerbaijan in the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict: "Over the past five years, relations have expanded significantly, and now we have stronger ties. The MOU will give new impetus to us, and we hope that Azerbaijani-Iran trade relations will grow. In recent years, two countries' connections have entered a new, dynamic, and promising development stage."

The 13th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Trade, and Humanitarian Cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan was held on March 19, 2019, in Baku.
