Georgia to ban imports of trucks and buses manufactured before 2014

Georgia will ban the imports of trucks and buses manufactured before 2014, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

The ban will come into force on January 1, 2025.

The restriction is introduced due to the country's transition to the Euro-5 standard, which regulates the content of harmful substances in exhaust gases. However, the restriction will not apply to vehicles in the country, as well as those brought to the country for the purpose of re-export and transit.

Georgia has also stopped importing passenger cars that do not meet the Euro-5 standard since January 1, 2024. These are mostly cars manufactured before 2013.
