First Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan appointed

An appointment has been made to the post of the First Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan.

Report informs that President Ilham Aliyev signed a relevant order.

According to the order, Rovshan Najaf was appointed the first deputy minister.

Rovshan Najaf was born in 1982 in Baku. In 1997 he entered the Faculty of International Economic Relations at the Azerbaijan State Economic University, obtained a bachelor's degree in 2001 and a master's degree in 2003.

From 2007 through 2008, he studied at Columbia University within the framework of the State Oil Company (SOCAR) scholarship program and received master's degree in Economic Policy Management/International Energy Management and Politics.

From 2008 through 2009, he worked as the head of the Investment Contracts Department of the SOCAR Investment Department.

From 2009 through 2010, he was the head of the Foreign Economic Relations Department and the Assistant to the Minister of Economic Development.

From 2010 through 2018, he worked as Deputy Executive Director and Executive Director of Azerbaijan Investment Company OJSC.

By order of the country's President dated May 11, 2018, he was appointed Head of the Department of Innovative Development and Electronic Government of the Presidential Administration.

By order of the President of the country dated August 28, 2019, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of the Financial Monitoring Service, and by the order of February 11, 2020 - the Deputy Minister of Economy.
