Erdogan: Turkey achieved record exports in 2021

Compared to 2020, the export revenues of Turkey increased by 39.2% to a record-high - $225.4 billion in 2021, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, Report informs.

According to him, the country's exports amounted to $36 billion when he came to power 20 years ago: "The exports have increased by six times since that time: "This is the highest figure in the history of the Republic. The United States ranks first for exports from Turkey. Over the years, exports to South America increased by 86.6%, to non-EU countries by 29%, to the Middle East by 22.6% and to North Africa by 44.8%."

The President said they aim to increase the export revenues up to $ 250 billion by 2022 and achieve 5% economic growth. "The foreign trade turnover in national currency amounted to 183 billion Turkish lira."
