Embassy: Azerbaijan Trade House planned to be opened in three cities of Kazakhstan

Baku. 14 September. REPORT.AZ/ Neighboring Kazakhstan, which is important for Azerbaijan’s export and import operations, has become attractive for Azerbaijani investors. In the first half of this year, the trade turnover between the two countries rose by 56%, Azerbaijan’s Embassy to Kazakhstan told Report.

"In the six months of this year, the trade turnover made up $142 mln against $117 mln last year. It was caused by high level of political links, mutual respect and confidence. In the first quarter of 2018 Kazakhstan was among  the top 15 exporters of Azerbaijan. Currently, Azerbaijan imports grain, black metals, locomotives, equipment for railway, fuel products, some industrial products from Kazakhstan and exports some petroleum equipment, metal structures, rural and food products to that country."

According to the embassy, the trade turnover in January-June amounted to $116.48 mln, including import to $93.43 mln, export to $23.05 mln: "The trade turnover increased by 56.4% compared to a year earlier, including import by 53.8% and export by 67.6%. The economic links between our country are not related only to trade. Azerbaijani investors actively invest in Kazakhstan’s economy. Azerbaijani companies actively participate in implementation of infrastructural projects."

"Participation of Azerbaijani companies in the 25th Kazakhstan International Building & Interiors Exhibition KazBuild 2018, held in Almaty, under the brand "Made in Azerbaijan" for the first time was an indicator of mutual economic confidence which reached the highest level in the recent years. As a result of high state guarantee for export and investments and favorable investment environment in Kazakhstan, 14 companies introduced their building and interior products at the national stand of Azerbaijan. In order to support export of Azerbaijani products, expand volume and geography of the export, promote ‘Made in Azerbaijan’ brand upon the instruction of Azerbaijani President, Azerbaijan Trade Houses are planned to be launched in three cities of Kazakhstan," the embassy said.
