Elon Musk tops world's richest people ranking

US entrepreneur Elon Musk, whose fortune is at $235 billion, has topped the list of the richest people in the world, Report informs referring to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI) rating.

The second place is still held by the founder and former head of the US online retailer Amazon Jeff Bezos. His wealth is estimated at $193 billion. The owner of the French luxury goods manufacturer LVMH (LVMH Moet Hennessy - Louis Vuitton) Bernard Arnault left the top three richest people in the world and took fourth place, behind Mark Zuckerberg and two other Americans. Arnault's fortune is $185 billion.

Zuckerberg, whose fortune is estimated at $188 billion, moved up to third place. The day before, Arnault and Zuckerberg's fortunes were $184 and $183 billion, respectively. Microsoft founder Bill Gates is in fifth place ($154 billion). Thus, Americans hold four places in the top five richest people on the planet, as well as nine positions out of the top ten.
