Economist: Green economy leads to emergence of new specialties

Green economy promotes the emergence of new specialties, Arzu Huseynova, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Economic Scientific Research Institute (ESRI) of the Ministry of Economy, stated at the 3rd Economic Cooperation Organization Think Tank Forum held in Baku on the topic "New Generation Economy: Challenges and Perspectives," Report informs.

According to Huseynova, however, this does not lead to job closures: "When fields like computers and information technology developed, there were concerns about increasing unemployment. But this resulted in the replacement of one specialty with another, rather than an increase in unemployment."

She noted that there will not be a complete transition to green energy in the next 10 years: "But specializations need to occur during this period."
