A person who created ten companies and evaded paying taxes to the state budget in Azerbaijan was sentenced to seven years in prison, Report informs referring to the State Tax Service under the Economy Ministry.
It was established that Natig Gasimov simultaneously registered as a taxpayer with several tax authorities and acted as the head of various enterprises.
During the investigation of the criminal case, it was revealed that the accused, who managed these companies together with other persons, evaded paying taxes to the state budget on an especially large scale - more than 1.5 million manats ($882,352).
He was sentenced to imprisonment for seven years with deprivation of the right to hold materially responsible positions in state and local government bodies and to engage in entrepreneurial activity for three years.
