Global climate change, depletion of natural resources, and growing demand are dictating the development of a "green economy," which has become a critical factor in the sustainable development of every nation, according to Samad Bashirli, Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Economy.
According to Report, speaking at the III Analytical Centers Forum of the Economic Cooperation Organization on "New Generation Economy: Challenges and Prospects" in Baku, Bashirli highlighted that currently, the share of electricity generated from renewable energy sources in the country's total electricity production stands at 14.4%.
The government aims to significantly increase this figure by 2030.
The deputy minister emphasized that Azerbaijan is implementing several large-scale projects to achieve its goals in the "green energy" sector.
