Cahit Bagci: Azerbaijan’s role in ensuring gas security of West increased significantly

"The role of Turkiye and Azerbaijan in solving the problems of the West, especially Azerbaijan's role in terms of gas security, has increased significantly," Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Cahit Bagci, said at the special session of the Caspian Energy Forum dedicated to Azerbaijan-Turkiye cooperation, Report informs.

According to him, Turkiye and Azerbaijan have become states whose role is more vital than ever before.

The ambassador added that Turkiye has strong cooperation with the West: "Turkiye's main exports are also directed to the West."

"Azerbaijan and Turkiye are well aware of the importance and value of the Middle Corridor (Trans-Caspian International Transport Route) and act together in this direction," Bagci said.

According to him, the meetings of the Turkish, Azerbaijani, and Kazakh ministers regarding transport were held this month: "The Baku Declaration was signed within the framework of the meeting. We discussed solving the problems regarding the Middle Corridor and turning the current geopolitical situation in our favour."

The ambassador said that the political will expressed by the heads of state of Azerbaijan and Turkiye has a significant impact on the business sector: "Trade started in Asia and the centre of trade is Asia. Therefore, we must realize this potential again. The trade among the Turkic states is very limited. We must implement a policy that will strengthen the trade among us and remove obstacles."
