Boeing suspends purchases of Russian titanium

American aircraft manufacturer Boeing has suspended purchases of Russian titanium, the company's press service said on Monday, Report informs, citing TASS.

At the same time, the concern did not comment on the fate of the Ural Boeing Manufacturing joint venture.

The corporation said that Boeing has a significant stock of titanium, thanks in part to Boeing's global supplier pooling initiative that has been underway for several years.

The company will continue to take steps to ensure the sustainability of the business in the long term, the corporation said.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the company receives about a third of the required amount of titanium for aircraft components from Russia. The rest is accounted for by the USA, Japan, China, and Kazakhstan.
