AZPROMO: Azerbaijan exports high quality products to Russia

Last year, Azerbaijan earned $202 million from tomato exports, Report informs, citing Yusif Abdullayev, the Acting Chairman of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO).

"From December 2020 to the present day, 800 tons of tomatoes have been exported to Kazakhstan. It equals 70% of the tomato export volume in 2019. Products that were not shipped to Russia found their customers in other markets. Our exporters have sold tomatoes to Belarus, Ukraine, and Poland," Abdullayev said.

He stressed that the Russian market is enormous.

"We have already taken our place in this market. The requirements set by Russia for imported products are in no way inferior to those of Europe. We have oriented our exporters to the Russian market. The demand for our products in Russia's large retail chains is the same as in European ones. It's just that Russia is convenient for our exporters in terms of logistics. Products sold in Russia meet high standards. Russia is an open market, and we compete in this market with products from the world's leading countries," he added.
