The Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) is expected to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) next year, AZPROMO's Executive Director, Yusif Abdullayev, said during the Azerbaijan-Latvia Information and Networking Meeting in Baku, Report informs.
Abdullayev highlighted that the MoU aims to boost import-export operations between Azerbaijan and Latvia and to increase the number of companies from both countries.
He pointed out that the current trade turnover does not reflect the full potential of the two nations and emphasized the need for serious efforts to address this issue.
The director noted that the number of Latvian companies operating in Azerbaijan is currently fewer than 40, indicating a significant area for improvement.
Abdullayev also said that approximately 20 companies from both Azerbaijan and Latvia attended the event.
