Baku. 9 December. REPORT.AZ/ Considering the quality of honey produced in Azerbaijan, high price in the local market, exporting prices and retail prices in European countries between 4-8€ local honey can only be brought to foreign markets of niche and premium class as a bio or organic product.
Report informs referring to the export markets review of the Ministry of Agriculture.
European markets and China are related to these markets. The share of honey sold in niche markets of Europe makes 15-20% of the total European honey market. Considering the preference of Chinese consumers to the premium honey products Chinese market can also be considered attractive.
In recent years, Azerbaijani has developed tradition of honey export.6.1 tons of honey were exported in 2016. In the same year Azerbaijan has imported 87.7 tons of honey.
