Azerbaijan, UK to sign MoU

Two memorandums are expected to be signed between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom within the 4th meeting of the Azerbaijani-British Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Baku.

Informing about the memorandums, the co-chair of the commission, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said that these documents would have a positive impact on the development of cooperation between the two countries.

One of the memorandums is the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of International Trade of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on cooperation in the field of clean energy.

The document envisages strengthening cooperation between the two countries on energy issues and exploring opportunities to address the problem of climate change. Within the memorandum, the two countries will cooperate in renewable energy, energy efficiency, low-carbon technologies, the transition to a liberal energy market and power grids, and exchange information and experience.

At the same time, a Protocol of intent is expected to be signed between the e-Government Development Center of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Digital Government Service of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the field of digital government.
