Azerbaijan to host Customs Forum

Azerbaijan will host Customs Forum in December 2024, an advisor to the president of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs Organizations of Azerbaijan, Ziya Hajili, said at the Azerbaijan Trade Forum themed "Opportunities, current situation and challenges for SMEs” in Baku, Report informs.

"The confederation continues to work together with customs authorities. Issues raised in the established entrepreneurship councils are being resolved. We are confident that the Customs Forum to be held in December this year will be beneficial as a form of this dialogue," he noted.

According to Hajili, out of the total credit portfolio of 27 billion manats ($15.88 billion) in Azerbaijan, 4 billion manats ($2.35 billion) or 14% belong to the trade sector: "Therefore, this sector plays an important role in ensuring employment for the population. Significant work has been done in Azerbaijan towards liberalizing the economy."
