Azerbaijan sharply increases importing hybrid cars from Germany

Azerbaijan imported 1,815 hybrid cars worth $37.8 million in January-February 2023, respectively, down 11% and up 2.3 times from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

The countries that exported hybrid cars to Azerbaijan in the reporting period:

- Germany – 197 cars (+16 times) worth $12.2 million (+29 times);

- Japan – 177 cars (-43%) worth $9.9 million (-20%);

- US – 211 cars (+90%) worth $5.8 million (+85.2%);

- China – 151 cars (no imports a year ago) worth $4.4 million;

- Korea – 113 cars (+7 times) worth $2.9 million (+20 times).

Some 78.4% of the 11,337 hybrid cars brought to Azerbaijan from 15 countries last year were purchased from Japan.
