Azerbaijan, Serbia eye expanding cooperation in several fields

There is a potential to expand relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia in agriculture, industry, construction, energy, IT, and other fields, Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, Sahib Mammadov, said at the Serbian-Azerbaijani business forum held in Belgrade, Report informs.

He informed about the economic reforms carried out in Azerbaijan, the favorable opportunities created for entrepreneurs and investors, and emphasized that the business forum will contribute to the expansion of economic relations and the creation of new opportunities for cooperation.

Mirjana Filipovic, an official of the Ministry of Economy of Serbia, emphasized that her country is interested in expanding relations with Azerbaijan, expressed her views on the direction of expanding economic cooperation between the two countries, and invited Azerbaijani companies to actively participate in projects implemented in various fields in Serbia.

Speaking at the forum, Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Board of the Alat Free Economic Zone, spoke about the investment opportunities of the Economic Zone, Orkhan Mammadov, the Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency, about the possibilities of expanding cooperation between Azerbaijani and Serbian SMEs, Yusif Abdullayev, head of AZPROMO, about the favorable business and investment environment created in Azerbaijan, and the export potential.

The forum, jointly organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS) and Azerbaijan`s Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), was held on November 21.
