On the 35th anniversary of January 20 - the National Day of Mourning, the staff of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan visited the Alley of Martyrs, Report informs, citing the ministry.
The ministry stated that the cherished memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of Azerbaijan was commemorated with deep respect and gratitude. Carnations were placed on their graves.
January 20, 1990, stands as a symbol of the heroic struggle of the Azerbaijani people for freedom and their indomitable will. This date accelerated the process of national awakening and played a crucial role in restoring Azerbaijan's state independence. January 20 has left an indelible mark on the Azerbaijani nation's history, and the memory of the martyrs will forever live in the people’s hearts.
