Azerbaijan’s auto imports down

In January-September 2024, Azerbaijan imported 66,285 vehicles worth $1.268 billion, respectively, down 9.1% and up 5.1% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Customs Committee.

According to the committee, the number of cars with a capacity of ten or more seats grew by 2.4 times to 211 (valued at $24.597 million), and the number of passenger cars and other motor vehicles dropped by 11.8% to 59,479 (valued at $1.106 billion).

Of these, 15,710 (worth $443 million) were hybrid vehicles, and 2,245 ($88.6 million) were electric cars, respectively, up 48.2% and 6% compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, the import of vehicles for cargo transportation surged by 23.3% to 6,242 ($102 million), and the number of special cars rose by 26.5% to 353 ($36 million).
