"Our main goal is to clear the territories of mines and unexploded ordnance to ensure the return of our people to the liberated lands of Azerbaijan," Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said at an event on "Financing Sustainable Development: Sustainable and Green Recovery from the COVID-19 Pandemic" in Baku, Report informs.
According to the minister, for this purpose, cooperation is being established with international organizations, especially the UN:
"As the steps to follow, it is planned to create Green Energy zones in the liberated territories, including the Smart City and Smart Village concepts per modern infrastructure. This issue is mentioned in the draft socio-economic development strategy for 2021-2025."
"The role of our cooperation in achieving sustainable development is great. Fulfilling the obligations arising from the 2030 Agenda, as well as the involvement of international investors in the fight against climate change to further increase the socio-economic and environmental potential of the country, to expand partnerships between international organizations and individual countries, the inclusion of private and public companies in the process, raising the level of public-private cooperation are essential, and the most advanced world experience confirms this," the minister said.
