Azerbaijan, Romania discuss strengthening cooperation in field of energy

Azerbaijan and Romania discussed the strengthening of cooperation in various fields of the economy, including energy, Report informs.

Discussions were held at the meeting of Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, with Minister of Energy of Romania, Virgil-Daniel Popescu.

The Minister of Economy emphasized the successful development of relations with Romania, the importance of mutual visits and meetings in the expansion of cooperation. It was reported that Azerbaijan-Romania economic-trade partnership is expanding, trade turnover is increasing as a result of the development of trade relations, which are the main directions of economic partnership. However, there are great opportunities for the development of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy, transport transit, and industry. The minister noted the mutually beneficial cooperation of the business entities of the two countries and the efficient operation of SOCAR in Romania.

Popescu noted that his country attaches importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan and relations have intensified recently, and shared his views on the prospects of implementing joint economic projects.
