Azerbaijan resumes turkey meat imports from Turkmenistan

In the nine months of 2024, Azerbaijan imported 2,405 tons of turkey meat (fresh or chilled, frozen) worth $2.81 million, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

This is 16% less in value and 5% in quantity compared to the same period in 2023.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported the product from:

- Russia: 310 tons (+10%) worth 781 thousand USD (1% more than the previous year)

- Brazil: 945 tons (-16%) worth $765,000 (-41%);

- Canada: 746 tons (+42%) worth 523,000 (+42%);

- Portugal: 325 tons (+29%) worth 468,000 (+32%);

- Chile: 22 tons (no supplies in the previous year) worth $51,230.

After two years and 4 months, Azerbaijan has resumed turkey meat imports from Turkmenistan (0.5 tons worth $5,840).
