In January-October, 2022, Azerbaijan imported 11,747 tons of black tea for $60.3 million, respectively, up 0.4% and 20% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
In the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 9,807 tons (+5.3%) of tea from Sri Lanka for $51.8 million (+26), 794.2 tons (-10.5%) from Russia for $4.2 million (-1%), 593.8 tons (-19%) from India for $2 million (-23.3 %), 264 tons (+45.9%) from Kenya for $1.3 million (+71.7%), 35.55 tons (+18.6%) from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for $309,000 (+21.2%).
Azerbaijan resumed tea imports from Taiwan (200 kg worth $2,300) after five years and ten months, from the US (20 kg worth $700) after three years and four months, and from Bulgaria (30 kg worth $250) after three years and one month.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 1,554 tons (+89%) of black tea for $9.800 million (+52.4%).
In particular, Azerbaijan exported 836.16 tons (+16 times) of tea to Russia for $4.1 million (+13 times), 489.95 tons (-4.7%) to Georgia for $4 million (+3.2%), 118 tons (-30.8%) to Ukraine for $953,000 (-29.5%), 15.9 tons (+75.1%) to the UAE for $158,000 (+80.5%), and 22 tons to Poland (supply restored after one year and three months) for $104,000.
