Azerbaijan imported 1,507 tons of plastic containers (food storage containers or kitchenware), valued at $4.8 million for the initial nine months of 2024, Report informs, referring to the country's State Statistical Committee.
According to the data, the imports rose by 11.5 percent in volume and 16 percent in value compared to the same period in 2023.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan received 474 tons (-11%) of plastic containers from Türkiye worth $1.89 million (+10%), 664 tons (+74%) from China worth $1.88 million (+60%), 281 tons (-27%) from Iran worth $565,000 (-28%), 64 tons (+3.2%) from Turkmenistan worth $167,000 (+3.5 times), and 13.6 tons (-2.3%) from Russia worth 57,000 (+24%).
After a break of 3 years and 10 months, Azerbaijan resumed plastic container supplies from Japan (0.04 tons worth $1,800).
