In the first half of 2022, Azerbaijan imported 9,159 tons of malt (unroasted and roasted) for $5.8 million, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.
The imports showed year-on-year growth of 29% in terms of value and 3.9% in quantity.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 5,925 tons (-8%) worth $3.3 million from Russia (increased by 17.8% compared to a year ago), 2,325 tons (+26%) worth $1.9 million (+38%) from Germany, 419 tons worth $287,000 from Ukraine (no imports a year ago), 246 tons worth $114,100 from Belarus (no imports a year ago), 128 tons (13.3 %) worth $102,000 (+24.4%) from Slovakia.
Azerbaijan resumed the malt imports from Belarus after a break of sixteen months.
