Azerbaijan imported 5,469 tons of sweet dry cookies for $12.52 million in January-March 2024, Report informs, citing country's State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period of 2023, the imports rose by 24 percent in volume and 23 percent in value.
In the first quarter of this year, Azerbaijan purchased 1,724 tons (+47%) of cookies from Türkiye for $5.8 million (+49% ), 902 tons (+28%) from Russia for $1.81 million (+15%) , 1,952 tons (+15%) from Iran for $1.6 million (+15%), 384 tons (+73%) from Ukraine for $1 million (+74%), 178 tons (-18%) from Kazakhstan for $656,000 (-20%).
Following a hiatus of four years and three months, Azerbaijan has recommenced cookie imports from Japan, totaling 3.9 tons valued at $8,000 and after a four years and two months of break, from Pakistan, amounting to 15.5 tons with a value of $64,000.
