In January-May 2025, Azerbaijan imported 83,232 tons of animal feed (products of plant origin, bran, plant waste and residues), valued at $37.4 million, representing a 13% increase in volume and a 10% drop in value year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased animal feed from:
- Argentina: 48,183 tons (+2.4%) worth $24.3 million (-17%);
- Russia: 29,083 tons (+42%) worth $10.6 million (+21%);
- Ukraine: 4,890 tons (-16%) worth $2.2 million (-30%);
- Kazakhstan: 5,135 tons (+12 times) worth $1 million (+7 times);
- Türkiye: 24 tons (+218 times) worth $14,400 (+32 times).
After an 8-year and 4-month break, Azerbaijan resumed supplies (2.2 tons worth $7,700) from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In 2024, 59.4% of the 183,000 tons of animal feed imported to Azerbaijan came from Argentina.
