Azerbaijan represented at CIS tax event held in Kazakhstan

A meeting of the Coordination Council of Heads of Tax (Financial) Investigation Bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Report informs, citing the State Tax Service under Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy.

Representatives from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus, Tajikistan, and Armenia participated in the meeting. Kanan Guliyev, head of the Main Department for Preliminary Investigation of Tax Crimes, Rovshan Abdullayev, deputy head, and Jamil Aliyev, chief investigator, represented the State Tax Service at the event.

Experts speaking at the meeting emphasized the importance of increasing cooperation between tax (financial) investigation bodies, improving analytical work, and exchanging information and experience. The event discussed the work of investigative bodies in ensuring economic security, issues of combating illegal circulation of financial resources, illegal gambling, and tax crimes.

At the meeting, the Azerbaijani delegation provided extensive information to the participants about the work done by the Main Department for Preliminary Investigation of Tax Crimes in the field of tax offenses and the successful results achieved, and made a presentation on "Cooperation and joint activities of financial authorities."
