Azerbaijan, in cooperation with the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), is preparing for the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), which will be held in Baku on May 18-22, 2026, said Anar Guliyev, chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, Report informs.
He emphasized that the forum is the second most important among events organized by the UN.
"Urban development was one of the key topics at the COP29 climate conference held this year in Baku. We will continue to pay attention to these issues at future COP events. The forum will include ministerial meetings, round tables, and other events," said the chairman.
Guliyev also reminded that this largest international event in urban development is held every two years. UN-Habitat acts as the organizer and coordinator of the forum.
