Azerbaijan posts over 7% increase in imports from Turkey

In January-May of this year, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkey amounted to $1,867,447,520.

Report informs citing the State Customs Committee that this is a growth of $3,652,320 or 0.2% more than in the same period last year.

During the reporting period, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to 15.8% of the total volume of foreign trade.

The value of Azerbaijan's exports to Turkey for five months of this year amounted to $1,207,014,940, which is a drop of $42,590,900 or 3.41% from a year earlier.

The cost of Azerbaijan's import from Turkey amounted to $660,432,580, which is $46,243,220 or 7.53% more than a year ago.

Azerbaijan's exports to Turkey amounted to 16.25% of the total export, and imports from Turkey made 15.03% of the total imports.

As a result, in January-May of this year, the positive balance in the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkey reached $546,582,360, which is $88,834,120 or 14% less than a year earlier.
