Azerbaijan and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) discussed new areas for cooperation, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy.
Minister Mikayil Jabbarov held a meeting with a delegation led by Charles Donald, Chair of the OECD Working Party on State Ownership and Privatisation Practices and Chief Executive of the UK Government Investments. The meeting noted the successful partnership between Azerbaijan and the OECD emphasizing the importance of joint efforts in various fields. Measures taken in Azerbaijan towards economic diversification, reducing state participation in state-owned enterprises, increasing economic efficiency, and improving financial sustainability were highlighted.
OECD representatives expressed satisfaction with the implementation of joint projects with Azerbaijan and shared experiences regarding management principles in state enterprises of member countries.
New areas for cooperation between Azerbaijan and OECD were discussed, as well as priority issues regarding sustainable operations of Azerbaijan Investment Holding and its portfolio companies, and their management in accordance with corporate governance principles.
