The number of dry ports in Azerbaijan should be increased, businessman Elmir Poladov said at the CEO MeetUp Logistics&Trade event on the current issues of logistics and trade held in Baku, Report informs.
“Currently, there is only one dry port (Absheron Logistics Center) in Azerbaijan,” the businessman said.
“Besides, the car park should be renewed. The world has already switched to double-decker carriages, a system where two carriages are stacked on top of each other. For example, if a train carries 50 cars, if the system changes, it will be able to carry 100 cars,” the entrepreneur added.
In addition, he suggested that the tax system should be reformed: “The profit tax system is very strict. A number of countries use a single system. Tax is charged either on the dividend or on the margin. If the earned money is reinvested, it is exempt from tax. Unfortunately, we do not have this system yet.”
